We are recruiting new members in spring (around April) and winter (around December). Anyone can join regardless of their previous knowledge or experience. In principle, we accept undergraduate students in their 1st to 3rd year. If there are many applicants, we may conduct a selection process. We will announce the events for recruitment on Instagram and X sequentially.

iGEM is not just a challenge in biology. It is only when diverse talents such as mathematics, programming, design, and dialogue with society come together that we can challenge the world. Whether you have special skills or not does not matter. What is necessary for iGEM is the enthusiasm to think through, clash, and create a project from scratch with your friends and see it through to the end. We sincerely welcome those who want to challenge the world with diverse friends!

Q. How can I join?
A. Please attend the recruitment briefing session.
Q. Do I need any special knowledge?
A. No prior knowledge or experience is required! If you are interested, please consider joining.
Q. Is there a selection process?
A. Due to the nature of our activities, we need to limit the number of members. If there are many applicants, we may conduct a selection process. We will inform you about this during the briefing session.
Q. I have scheduling conflicts and may not be able to attend the recruitment briefing session.
A. Please fill out the participation form with your available dates and times. We will try to accommodate your schedule.
Q. How often do you have activities?
A. We have regular meetings every week, which are generally mandatory. Besides that, we have activities on different days depending on the team.
Q. I want to join multiple clubs. Is that possible?
A. Yes, it is possible. In fact, many of our members are involved in multiple clubs.
